Simple is Better

First of all, a big thank you to those of you who commented on my whiny post yesterday.  It was kind of an unexpected little vent that I did, but it was also honest.  It was also unexpected - and really quite flattering - to have you lovely readers reassure me that just because we don't have the slickest, glossiest, most professional and fashionable blog in the world doesn't mean we don't deserve our own little spot on the internet.

I looked back at our first post ever today (because I remembered that I wore this very same shirt in that post), which included the following statement: "This is not a fashion blog!  It's just a safe place for us to dump our daily outfits."  So there you have it! Maybe I just need to remember that our original mission statement here was not to be crazy fashionistas with Vogue-worthy photo shoots, but to simply catalog our outfits.  I know that I am inspired by bloggers everyday, and I definitely gravitate towards those who have a simple and classic style that I can interpret into my own daily wardrobe. If I can do that same thing for other folks, well... then I am a happy camper.  We shall see what the future holds....

In the meantime, here is an outfit.

Blouse: The Limited (love this alternative)
Skirt: The Limited (similar)
Shoes: Nine West (similar)

  1. This post made me smile. :) I'm so glad you see what we see in you, which is that you do provide inspiration every time you post! Sure, pretty photos are nice to look at too, but I am pretty easy to please. Give me a nice outfit consistently and I'll keep coming back, and you have mastered that!

  2. I love the simple style of the blog as well. Keeps it more real for us fellow office-dwellers! So much more relatable.

  3. Gina is right, pretty photos are nice to look at. But I don't pin them on my boards, because they are not really realistic to recreate. I pin your photos (in a strictly non-stalkerish way :)) because I can create them, and incorporate them in my real life! I love all your pencil skirts!

  5. I get way more inspiration from your blog than the "glossy" fashion blogs. Your style is professional and REAL and I love it.
