Monday Musings

I will be honest, I have not been feeling up to blogging lately (in case you couldn't tell by my sporadic absences from the blog these days).  I guess I just wish I had more time to devote to it in order to make it pretty and nice...and, I don't know, maybe actually have some decent pictures that aren't blurry and taken in a rush in my office between tasks?  I'm trying to decide whether to keep going and hope the joy comes back, or to take a break and see if I miss it.  I have to be honest with myself that this blog is never going to be as fancy and glossy and sharp as some others out there - between two kids and a demanding job, I do not have time to devote to it, unfortunately.  Anyway, there's my randomly personal musings for Monday...sorry for the brain dump, guess it was on my mind!

The outfit is pretty much as basic as it gets - white blouse, comfy pencil skirt, and leopard pumps (a.k.a. The Best Closet Addition Ever).

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar)
Skirt: Halogen (here in black) (similar green skirt)
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: Forever 21 (alternative)

  1. Please don't stop blogging (although, I completely understand). I am also a mom to 2 kids and work full-time and your outfit posts give me lots of work outfit ideas :) Again, I'd hate to see you go but I totally get not having time for everything we try and fit in.

  2. I really hope you don't stop blogging. You are my go to inspiration for clothes I can *actually* wear to work. I love that your blog is real!

  3. I hope you don't stop either. I like seeing what a real woman in the real world wears - plus I get inspiration from it all the time, so I would be sad if you went away :(

  4. I LOVE your simple blog! I don't need dozens of pictures to be inspired to rework my clothes. Your one picture each day has inspired me numerous times to wear a different combination with the clothes I already own. Thank you for being simple and easy to recreate! I hope you can find the joy in blogging again.

    1. I feel the same way about simple blogs, but sometimes I get insecure with all the fancier blogs out there - silly, i know! Thanks for the support! :)

  5. I definitely hope you'll stick around! Lots of people (me included) still prefer real-life, wearable outfits to glossy, magazine-worthy pics with tulle skirts and women "standing in a prairie looking lithe." (My favorite quote from Karen!! Ha ha!) I do understand the time commitment and that you have a really full schedule, but I think what you're doing is great and doesn't need to be anything more than this. This is authentic and that's what people are drawn to. (And if they're not drawn to it, there are approximately 10 million other blogs that might be more their speed.) Anyway, hope you can make it work for you!

  6. hey Karen. I am CArren too but I spell mine with a C :) I was sooooo happy to have came across your blog and I always look forward to your outfits because I am a skirt lover. You also have the most simplest and genuine blog and that what inspires me to be me and see where it takes me. Someones style or flaws is another persons inspiration. please do not give up on your blog.

  7. Love love love your blog! My favorite thing about your site is that it is a straightforward look at what a real, stylish person wears to work each day. Especially the outfits that get put together on those days when the reason for the outfit is - it's against the rules to show up to work naked. :)

My advice is to blog when it feels fun and take a break when it doesn't - just don't pressure yourself! We'll be here waiting patiently for your inspiration to strike. :)
