Roman Holiday: Athleisure Edition

The last few months have gone by in a flurry - I know, we always say that - but really, it was moreso than usual.  When the year started I stayed with winter and had a long phase of just wearing black, which wasn't too interesting from a blog standpoint.  Then a trip to Italy went onto my date book and I started planning everything around that: (1) getting all my ducks in a row so I could take the week off from work; (2) making sure I was working out and in good shape, which got so excessive that I ended up really sick in the week right before the trip (go, me!); and, of course (3) planning my wardrobe so I could hit Italy with all my athleisure favorites!

I could write on and on about how wonderful it was to be in Florence, Rome, and Assisi, with layovers in Copenhagen and Istanbul.  But that's probably for a different blog.  Ultimately, the most important items to report are: I fell in love with Rome, as I never had before in three previous visits, and I think I am done wearing all black, or black layers!  I'm ready for spring!  And to revitalize my workwear once again.

Until then, here's today's simple outfit and some snaps from the last Roman holiday.  Of course, I had a fantasy of looking like Sophia Loren or Audrey Hepburn, but I think the very sensible Italians would have just laughed at me.

    1. Aw thank you, Roxi! Who isn't happy in Italy, right? Be sure to Google the Clare V tote, or check out the link I put there because it is definitely on sale somewhere now... also if you got it through Rent the Runway you could save 30% at least...
