As a refresher course, on Wear it Wednesday: each Wednesday we choose an item or style of clothing and each style it our own way. Today... a work wear classic: the blazer!

Our routine for the last four weeks since the inception of #WearItWednesday (haha) is a text exchange that goes something like this, on a Tuesday night at 9:30 pm:
One of us: What are we doing for WIW?
The other: Oh, I almost forgot! Stripes?
One of us: I already wore stripes this week.
The other: I have a deposition tomorrow... can't decide.
One of us: Blazer then?
The other: Works for me.
And aside from this being the exciting, behind-the-scenes look you were dying to know about, it's a testament to how our dress is truly function first. What we've already done. What's going on the next day. Who's going casual. I swear, without this project of ours, I'd seriously wear black every day with the same pet pieces like (currently) the 3.1 Phillip Lim clutch and (endlessly) my Sole Society heels.
So, on this Wednesday, I had a morning deposition and then raced it back to the office for more odds and ends. Basic black, all the way, but this jacket has some fun detail under the collar and cuffs. A pop of pattern and then of blue, and I'm all set!

Sporting my Miami Vice blazer today! This blazer is definitely a bit loud, but its also made of sweatshirt material, which is awesome. This is good, because I normally have an aversion to blazers since I find them to be not super comfy. Sure, they add a certain structure and professionalism to any outfit, and I love how they look. However, they always make me think of court appearances. And they are also not nearly as cozy as a nice cardigan. Thus, sweatshirt blazer to the rescue!
Also, I just realized that my skirt is also basically made of sweatshirt material. No wonder I just feel like taking a nap today!
Blazer: SheInside (similar)
