The Long-Awaited Impossible

We did the long-awaited impossible today: we met up for drinks.

This is a major milestone in the span of our friendship/bloggership/co-workership, having been so busy with opposite schedules in the last, oh, almost three years, that we weren't able to get together right after work for some cheese and wine.  But, since we planned this two weeks ago, it totally happened.

Here we are, right outside an uber-hip stretch of 6th that has Cole's, The Varnish, The Association, and where we wound up, Mignon.  (It was very cute.)

Oh, I cannot say enough about how much fun it was to have Paloma all to myself for over two hours.  We could not believe that we had never done that before, and of course, vow to do it like a million times more.  It is amazing how developed our opinions are about the issues of the day: Real Housewives, The Bachelorette, delivery diets, Aspen, Palm Springs...

This is another Paloma-approved outfit, for its pops of color and "mixed use" approach, combining casual with work pieces.  This is also a Karen-approved outfit because it's a super-comfy black slub skirt with some heels (which I would want to do every day).  In fact, this Stitch Fix skirt is something I've been sneaking into the wardrobe at least once a week.

A little nod to Mignon, this was every bit the Parisian hideout for your inner beatnik.  Two and a half glasses of wine, three cheese, three charcuterie, one egg en cocotte, to be shared with one fabulous friend - a pat little $30.  A very happy hour indeed!

Hooray for drinks with my blogging buddy!  It was truly a delight to spend some time with this lovely lady, and we have vowed to not let another almost three years pass before we do it again.  I am holding us to it!

Wearing my favorite "feeling chunky" skirt - its so comfy and stretchy and flippy, you just can't go wrong!  Unfortunately I always struggle with what to pair it with so end up in black - always.
